365/365

I was going to do "THE END", but the dog was being a spaz and it was harder than I had imagined to pluck all the tiny flowers and arrange them... so, whatev, here it is.

I can't believe I actually made it to 365 pics, can't believe it's been an entire year since I started this. And it's certainly been... a year. I guess this is where I should talk about what an incredible journey it was and how I've really found myself, but... it was just a year. I lost my dad, I lost my dog, I got a tattoo, I got another cat, I learned to embroider, I made some questionable decisions, I made some decent decisions... I think this was helpful for me, a constant, something I needed to do, regardless of what else was going on. And I guess someday it will be cool to look back and have a full year of my life documented.

here's why I rarely wear nailpolish - after a day or so it looks like this... and then I'm usually too lazy to remove the polish correctly, so I just let it wear off for days and days.

I know they're pests and probably teeming with rabies and fleas, but I can't help it, squirrels are adorable!!!!

the first strawberry of the season (in high contrast), not as sweet as the later season ones, but still big and ripe and gorgeous.

I paint my toenails more often than I paint my fingernails, and I don't paint my toenails much - when I do, though, I prefer a cheap, slutty red, it's kind of an all purpose color.

Happy Buddha at the new Chinese restaurant is happy. And Chinese food makes my belly happy.

Another one of my thrift store finds - it's done by hand in pastel and obviously fairly old (from the style and colors, I'm guessing mid-70s?) - I always feel sad when I see hand done art in thrift stores. To think that someone spent that much time and effort into making a piece and then someone else just discards it like that. The only thing sadder is when I see family pictures there (not to mention, who the hell is going to want your old family pictures?).

Rainy day and I found this flower on the clearance rack outside of a grocery store (didn't buy it because I am a serial plant killer) but I think these are my favorite kind of flower, with their leaves so folded and packed together, they look almost like fake tissue flowers.

fun fact: I love thrift stores. And vintage bakeware. Especially vintage bakeware that is under $4.

Storm clouds rolling down my street in this morning. Oddly enough, after that it cleared up and the weather was gorgeous today. Too bad, I kind of like the rain.

All those delicate little flowers on the apricot trees have been replaced by hearty green leaves - soon enough those will be joined by fat golden apricots.

Because of my supercool habit of picking up rocks whenever I'm at the beach, I have five or six jars of rocks around the house - this one is the most recent, it's the rocks from Moonstone Beach, they are the most shiny and soft. Now if only I could figure out something to do with them all...

I love these lilies, they're so graceful and perfect... if only they were ANYWHERE ELSE but right next to the dirty stuccoed wall...

Look at those gorgeous little baby potatoes - now they've all been quartered the hell up and tossed into the crock pot with a big old slab of beef - yum.
